En las ultimas decadas existe una permanente busqueda de metodos cuantitativos reproducibles y de facil implementacion que ayuden en el diagnostico a nivel craneofacial. En la literatura podemos agrupar en el area craneofacial tecnicas destinadas a medir variables mecanicas, quimicas o electricas del comportamiento de los tejidos del complejo craneomandibular. La electromiografia como metodo para evaluar la actividad muscular ha sido ampliamente utilizada pero las diferentes metodologias reportadas y la rapida implementacion de analisis derivados de las ingenierias, han provocado una dificultad adicional en la interpretacion de los datos a los lectores principiantes. Esta revision busca presentar algunos conceptos del analisis electromiografico que le permitan a las personas interesadas en el tema una vision intuitiva de los analisis encontrados en la literatura. ABSTRACT In the last decades, there have been a permanent searching for quantitative methods reproducible and of easily implementation that help in the diagnosis of craniofacial problems. In the literature, it is found techniques that can be grouped in the ones that measure mechanical, electrical or chemical behavior of the tissues of the craniofacial complex. The electromyography as method to evaluate the muscular activity has been widely used, but the different reported methodologies and the fast implementation of the analysis from the engineering have produced an additional difficulty for the readers in the interpretation of the data. This revision presents some concepts of the electromyographical analysis that allow the interested persons to have a vision of the analysis found in the literature
