I bring the topic of the catechumenate because we all know that for the first communities the catechumenate was a way of Christian initiation, a journey to the pagans or of another religion who wanted to become Christians. The catechumenate disappears from the Church in the fourth century when catholicism becomes the official religion of the Empire. Then is when you are distorting the Christian commitment and already all come to be a part of the Church by convenience personal, political, etc. This work connects two major themes, the catechumenate and evangelization. These two issues addressed in the course of my work from the festive dimension. The joy is what comes to permeate both the catechumenate and the new evangelization. What motivated me? Two things motivates me: first, the steady growth that experiences the Neo-catechumenal Way in the world. They are communities of Christians well formed in the faith who have rediscovered their baptism and that are conscious of their duty as Christians and of the witness they must give to society. Then, by studying the reasons for the growth and acceptance of this movement I came to the conclusion that the novelty of these communities is the beauty of the liturgy and community celebration, the agape, the fraternal enjoy. That is why I dare to propose the catechumenate for the new evangelization since the festive dimension. Although already the Vatican II invited to the whole Church to restore the catechumenate.
