This paper presents a numerical study of multiphase flow in commercial package CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Article aims to simulate particles movement within centrifugal gravity concentration equipment (hydrocyclone) and fluidized bed (jig) operating with mineral suspensions of different densities and particle sizes. It evaluates particles trajectory and its effects in operation of both gravity concentrators. Results are important to understand mechanisms governing separation efficiency and thus help to explain origin of hydrodynamic phenomena important from industrial application perspective, if trajectory is know.
