The following paper refers to the social representations regarding the alternative equity conciliation mechanism of equity conciliators (men and women), of the mediation and conciliation Units in the city of Bogota, D.C. This was based on the procedural approach by which a series of categories were established allowing developing the representation, and additional fieldwork was carried out through the mechanism of in-depth interviews, joined to participant observation; both, tools which allow having access to social representations from the everyday practice.
