In the present work shows the results obtained from electrochemical noise measurements for materials exhibiting pitting corro sion, the transients presented in the series of potential and current time were an alyzed, correlating with an analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Ele ctrochemical measurements were made at different exposure times to calculate the correlation. The materials used were stainless stee l austenitic 316 and duplex 2205, the used were electrolytes FeCl3 and NaCl. SEM analysis shows that the transients presented in the time series, really cor respond to the activity of nucleation of pits developed on the surface of the electrodes.
