The study aims to determine the applicability of a coaching model performance and leadership oriented to electrical engineers in the area of Maintenance Management for a utility. The experimental design consisted of the construction of a pilot survey, comprised of 229 questions, which evaluated four variables: Culture and organizational learning, leadership, management skills and knowledge. The results were subjected to correlation analysis (Spss. 15.0) to produce the final survey, comprising 91 questions. The porcentualizacion of responses showed the existence of faults in the variables Leadership, Knowledge Management and Competition, which built the model of coaching based on the strengthening of weak variables, led to the improvement of human skills within the Department of Maintenance management of the Utility.
