In this paper, we applied a chemical equilibrium model for the evaluation of the plasma gasification technology over medical wastes. Reported physical characterizations made in developing-countries were employed in order to use this model. Parametric calculations were developed involving the composition of the gasification products, the temperature, plasma-gas type, and moisture content of the waste. The best scenario founded is the system where the process temperature is 1,273 K and moisture content as low as possible. Model evaluation under these parameters determined that the syngas is composed of 13.34% v/v H2, 20.10% v/v CO, 8.41% v/v CO 2, 0.02% v/v CH 4 and 58.17% v/v N2. A Higher Heating Value (HHV) for the syngas of 1.024 kWh/m 3 at 1,273 K was determined. According to the results, the plasma gasification technology is a good alternative to the friendly use of medical waste in developing-countries. Key Word — Equilibrium. Gasification, Plasma, Waste.
