In this article is shown the results of the study of corrosion-erosion synergy of TiN and CrN hard coatings obtained on steel AISI 1045 by Physical Vapor Deposition Magnetron Sputtering. The Physical Vapor Deposition process contributes widely to the application of coatings with high hardness and chemical inertia on cutting tools and motor-pumps impellers, princi-pally. This article reveals the results of the study of the corrosion - erosion synergy by means of electrochemical polariza-tion techniques, in conformity with the standards concentrated on the literature and on the existing regulation, giving spe-cial attention in the speed and the impact angle of the erosive particles in an aggressive electrolite covering the deposited samples.
