Meaningful learning strategies are the tools used by students deliberately and flexibly in order to improve the learning process, these types of strategies are recirculating organization, retrieval and processing. Based on these strategies was decided to conduct an inquiry into which of these were the most used by nursing students at the Pontificia Universidad applied in the course of nursing children and adolescents taking into account performance. To carry out this research was counted with the voluntary participation of students and asked the implementation of an instrument called Inventory of meaningful learning strategies used by undergraduate nursing Pontificia Universidad Javeriana to 39 students they coursed the subject of nursing children and adolescents during the three academic years 2013 - I, 2013 - 2014 III - I. In the data obtained showed that a general strategy used students recirculation information, ie using memory when learning a subject. Within which students throw the study say otherwise use the strategy of meaningful learning to handle information learned.
