This study shows the temporal and spatial variability of precipitation. It focused in temporal variability by using precipitation series with intervals of 1 day, 1 hour and 15 minutes for 6 rain stations. It looks for frequencies and climatic phenomena associated in each time scale. The applied methodology included three methods for time series analysis with Fast Fourier Transform, Wavelet decomposition and Principal Component Analysis. The results show semiannual cycle, periods of 30 to 60 days associated with Madden Julian waves and 4 to 6 days periods associated with east waves.
