El proposito de este articulo es realizar una descripcion del estado de la tecnica en telemedicina a nivel mundial para darla a conocer con profundidad, desde su definicion y diferencia con otras areas similares como telesalud y e-salud. Igualmente se exponen sus objetivos, beneficios, limitaciones, tecnologia involucrada y principios de desarrollo. Por ultimo, se describen algunas aplicaciones medicas en telemedicina. Summary The purpose of this article is to perform a description of Telemedicine's state of the art at world-wide level to present this area in depth, from its definition and difference with other similar areas as telehealth and e-health. Also their objectives, benefits, limitations, involved technology and principles of development are exposed. Finally, some medical applications in telemedicine are described.
