Objetive To analyze several variables associated with AN in a c1inical series of colombian patients as compared to youngsters of similar age, sex, and educational level. Method This case study with control subjects was carried out with adolescents in Santafe de Bogota. Ten patients with Anorexa Nervosa were evaluated based on the DSM-IV; besides, ten control subjects chosen according to sex and age were given a series of interviews along with a c1inical instrument Results This was the first episode in eight of the patients, in which low sexual and social activity was evident. The evolution took 15 ± 17.6 months. The Alimentary Behaviour interviews (ABI), the Ley ton scale score and the Zung for epression where significantly higher in these patients. Their score was also higher in the Transitions subscale in the Iist of Difficult Experiences. The GAF at the time of evaluation was 40.9 ± 9 among patients as opposed to 86.5 ±11 in control subjects.
