In this article it is shown the relation between job satisfaction and burnout syndrome in a sample of school teachers from Ibague (Colombia). It is assumed that professionals devoted to teaching might develop a prolonged response to stress known as the Burnout Syndrome due to the normal demands in their job, which will be notice in not satisfaction in their job and in a decrease in their life quality. This research was framed as a quantitative correlational study. There were found negative relations between the two main variables measured, that showed high job satisfaction and low burnout levels in the observed sample.
