English Abstract: This introductory essay provides a reflection on the historical configuration of law and its relationship with nature's exploitation. In doing so, it seeks to highlight the epistemic foundations surrounding the criminalization of social protest in today’s globalized world. The essay revolves around the question of why the law has historically disregarded both environmental and social harm. Finally, the discussion concludes by suggesting a paradigm shift in the fields of criminology and legal theory. Spanish Abstract: Este ensayo desarrolla una reflexion acerca de la configuracion historica del derecho y su relacion con la explotacion de la naturaleza. Al hacer lo anterior se busca resaltar los fundamentos epistemicos en torno a la criminalizacion de la protesta social en el mundo globalizado contemporaneo. El ensayo intenta entender por que el derecho ha excluido historicamente el dano social y ambiental. Finalmente, el analisis concluye sugiriendo un cambio paradigmatico en criminologia y teoria juridica.
