Discourse analysis is presented as an appropriate method tool for qualitative research. In that respect, it is assumed here that the contributions from several semiological perspectives make it possible to inquire into the production of discursivity and meaning and that this always involves the signification of space and eventually of places on the part oi the speaker. In the first part, phenomenological and structurational notions, which have been constructed by Geography around the concept of place, are introduced, and next, a choice of theoretical and methodological elements of a semiological nature will be set out for the analysis of the corpus obtained from an interview.
