Este trabajo1 hace un balance de la historiografia sobre la ciudadania y las elecciones en el mundo hispanico agrupandolas en tres tipologias construidas de acuerdo al enfasis puesto en determinada cuestion. La primera la denominamos tendencia constitucionalista y dio cuenta de los trabajos que se preguntaron por cuales fueron los mecanismos que hicieron posible el ejercicio del sufragio. La segunda tendencia, llamada conceptual tuvo como pregunta de fondo ?cuales fueron los conceptos que estuvieron detras del voto? En la tercera tendencia llamada participativa, se analizan los trabajos que se preguntan por ?quienes fueron los individuos que acudieron a las urnas? ELEMENTS FOR A HISTORIOGRAPHICAL DEBATE ABSTRACT This paper offers an overview of the historiography on citizenship and elections in the Hispanic world constructed by grouping them in three types according to emphasis on certain issues. The first trend we call constitutional and realized the work that was asked about what were the mechanisms that made possible the exercise of suffrage. The second trend, called conceptual background was asked what were the concepts that were behind the vote? The third trend called participatory, discusses the work being asked about who were the individuals who went to the polls?
