This reflection shows, in general, the impact of public policy on disability, from the strategy of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR), focusing on actions that implement the agents of change as a contribution to the process of rehabilitation and inclusion of people in disability status. This population is stigmatized by social exclusion as the collective imagination of society assumes that disability is focused on the individual’s physical limitations and not ignoring the environment beyond the potential skills that enhance the subject. It intend to show successful experience of a disabled person on condition that from personal experience its reality and promotes empowerment, changing attitudes and strengthening the processes of social inclusion, equal opportunities, aimed at improving the quality of life population impairment.
