By presenting the evolution of variables and broad economic facts, it is proposed in this essay that instead of blaming the implementation of a neoliberal model for the problems that Colombia has been facing, which otherwise has not been proved, it has been the implementation of inadequate economic policies and speculative events both national and international, what has generated the economic crisis.
