The desire is the result of a particular inmersion of the subject in a structure based on the relation with the other and not on the object relations; any definition of desire can only take place at the inside and through radicalization of the effects of language on the living. With the help of the newborn, the article moves towards a definition of desire as the desire for/of the other, presenting along two paradoxes which affects mainly the illusion of a psychoanalysis conceived as development psychology.
