The Colombian Electoral System has recently gone through some reforms; based on an analysis of them the authors conclude that the goal of strengthening parties and, because of that, strengthening ideology, did not end up as was expected by those who claimed a change in the traditional way of political practices in the country. In the same way that the traditional parties have perpetuated themselves along history, that is to say without noticeable transformations of their political habits, continuing to hold the majority in every single power space, and taking advantage of advertising and image handle, the traditional parties perpetuate themselves in the inveterate personalization of politics.
