This paper shows the results of the implementation and evaluation of a strategy for teaching physics in the training of engineering students, which aims at qualifying the process of meaningful learning of ideas and concepts developed by Ausubel through laboratory precision. To conduct this study, two groups were established: the control and monitoring groups. The focus was on the mechanics area and the concepts were: density and units of measurement, constant acceleration, free fall and gravity, projectile motion, moment of inertia, Doppler effect, damped motion and standing waves in strings. From guidance documents about induction and evaluation, students had the opportunity to practice the observation of the physical phenomenon; they could justify and explain it from the established theories, with the use of new technologies.
