This research deals with certain flaws recognized in knowledge theoretical-and-empirical areas of collaborative systems and learning support systems, particularly regarding the impact assessment of that technology on collaboration results within actual social contexts. Specifically this paper aims to assess a collaborative environment impact on a student-group work supported by an electronic discussion forums tool and a collaborative guide. Results will help to establish a framework for designing forums regarding collaborative learning and a methodology development to assess the contribution of this type of CSCL system within a real social context for learning.
