The paper presents some trends that, in the conceptual order, have emerged like consequences from the progress of the research program about thought and knowledge of the teacher. Beginning from a clear break with behaviorist psychology and research on the teaching which this paradigm derived were, the work recognizes the emergence of cognitive psychology as the epistemological ground on which interest arises to investigate the thinking teacher in its causal relationship to teaching. However beyond this historical evidence, the paper presents the development of this research program and its derivation in research about: teacher professional knowledge like general category, the epistemologies from professors about his own knowledge and more recently about specific teacher professional knowledge associated to particular categories. This report is based on developments made in research about Specific Professional knowledge from computer technology teachers, associated concept of technology, which takes place in the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Education offered by the National Pedagogical University, specifically in the line of epistemology and knowledge of the teacher, in the researching group by the Colombian Classrooms INVAUCOL.
