The objective of this research was to describe the experiences of maltreatment, the type and form of violence in the dating period in order to implement and assess the relevance and impact of a behavioral intervention program on violence in the courtship with school teenagers in the city of Tunja. The type of study is mixed with levels of descriptive and functional analysis, initially, descriptive exploratory, with a total of 589 students (294 women, 295 men, age M = 15.3 years, SD = 1.42 years, age rank 12-22 years) from ninth, tenth and eleventh graders from three public schools in the city of Tunja (Boyaca) and a second stage implementing a group behavioral intervention, where it trained in problem-solving skills, and emotional regulation communication, the methodology of AB single case design involving three heterosexual couples (3 women, 3 men, M age = 17.6 years, age rank 16-19). The instruments used were: (a) a checklist of experiences of couple abuse form A, which allows reporting on received violence by the couple and the B form, to show the occurring violence in the family, (b) daily register of couple abuse experiences that identifies 29 behaviors of violence that can occur in a couple relationship, (c) primary communication scale (Navran, 1967). The assessed variables were physical, emotional, psychological, sexual violence and styles of communication among couples. In the exploratory phase was found that 70.9 % of reported respondents have been victims of at least one form of violence from their couples and 48.6 % reported have used at least one form of violence against their couples, the reporting types of violence are more psychological and emotional. In intervention phase was found that the program had an effect in reducing violent behavior in the three couples, positively reinforcing interaction and communication.
