The article presents the quantitative results of the implementation of the 4MAT System learning style in teaching physics at university level in large groups of students. Learning strategies are designed according to the four learning styles proposed by McCarthy. 4MAT System was implemented in course “Physics I” that took place with fundamental mathematics and groups who took the course of “Mechanics” with calculus bases in the University of Quindio, Colombia. Were used Force Concept Inventory (FCI) for comparison the understanding of the basic concepts of mechanics. The study shows that better progress has been achieved in the groups of students where the 4MAT system was implemented compared to traditional methodology. Additionally were presented activities that are possible to develop outside the classroom and that are consistent with the 4MAT System. The novelty of this study is on the application of the methodology: 4MAT System in physics and analysis of the use of FCI test in Colombia at the college level.
