The waste generated during the benefit of the sisal, cause an environmental problem, due to the fact that they are rejected directly to the environment. In this work the anaerobic digestion is studied as an alternative for the treatment of this waste called bagasse, which was characterized physico-chemically, The parameters evaluated were: chemical oxygen demand (COD), Solid Suspended Volatile (SSV), Volatile fatty acid (VFA) and Bromatological Analysis. The methane quantification was made using an gas analyzer (Bacharach). The results of this study let concluded that the bagasse of the sisal is an excellent substratum for the producer microorganisms of biogas, due to his high concentration of carbon necessary for the bacterial growth, which is demonstrated in the composition of biogas obtained with 25,2% of CH 4 , 14,5% CO 2 and 1,7% O 2 , indicating that there was growth of sufficient methanogenic population in the anaerobic reactor.
