The research output is the cornerstone for the development of professions and professionals. For speech and language pathologist is important to identify the features and recognize trends in research in order to propose projects with and contribute to the target population and professional development. This article shows the results of an approach to a picture of the reality of research of speech language pathology Colombiana, from bibliometric analysis of research presented at the Meetings of Speech Language Pathology Research organized by the Corporacion Universitaria Iberoamericana from 2007 to 2010. The results show focused on methodological research output criteria: descriptive scope, qualitative approach and purpose of applied research, the units of analysis are mostly humans, and the interview is more evident as the instrument used. The caring role, the educational scenario, the area of communication in the process of language are the most researched topics. In discussing the importance of methodological rigor and greater coordination for projects to have significant impact to achieve national and international visibility arises.
