The article is developed under an evolved conception considering the economically correct canons, involving alternative contributions made from Latin-American and specifi cally Colombia. Then appears the development given in sustainable development conceptuali- zation, in the light of development and environment approach the role of Latin-American proposals is involved. Existent relations and inter-dependencies are shown result of development and environment advance, evidencing reciprocal infl uences of each element in other's defi nition. The document concludes showing a clear trend to uniformity of concepts and dominance of thought from thought centers and decision making, which does not mean improvement in terms of development nor sustainable development; therefore it is urgent to seek for alternatives which respond to Latin-American necessities on intellectual independence.
