This paper proposes a reflection on the concept of social network in three dimensions: as an intersubjective binding process, as practices of cooperation and support for those making social advocacy, and as a way to interweave meanings that interpret and explain the daily life of individuals, groups and organizations. Likewise, we present the political dimension of social networks within the framework of participative democracy from which Social Work clarifies and sustains the notion of network as an interpretative framework for some methodologies of social intervention.
