The purpose of this study is to provide better understanding of the utilization made by several patients associations of the New Information and Communication Technologies (NITCs) in Bogota, Colombia. A group for- med by 14 associations and foundations, which works with chronical patients, was selected in order to make a telephone survey to their representatives, ranked in 8 analysis categories. The results show that the most used resource for communicating issues is the mailing list. However, other resources like web pages, blogs, social networks, instant messaging, microblogging or sms, are not commonly used as support systems. The study re- commends for further research to increase the quantity of associations, and to utilize more robust statistical tools for data analysis. The paper also encourages increasing the design of projects in order to integrate the elec- tronic resources into their usual activities.
