Through this research, based on narratives, images and feelings of three women who suffered from infertility and who attended individual herapeutic processes of psychoanalytic orientation - during two academic semesters once per week, we explored the mental condition in which they were by their inability to get babies that everyone expected of them. Exploratory design of type starting, collected qualitative material with which were constructed narratives about the life of the articipants from their family of origin up to the present time. Analysis of 45 protocols, corresponding to psychotherapy sessions allowed to establish that the invasion or crushing by the external maternal object, added to the absence of paternal function of protection and separation of the dyad of mother - baby, they produce failures in relation to the processes of individuation, the flattening of space inside of the mind and the destruction of the self and its functions. We identified the existence of mental States of individual and group character, in which the functioning of basic course (unit, mating and fighting and leakage), infantile States of mind, the dementalization, structural and sensorial dismantling of the self and the unidimensionality and two-dimensionality of the psychic space. Shortcomings at the level of structure and mental performance in women, are perpetuated in the middle of the situation of infertility, because large amounts of frustration and anxiety that this produces aggravates the destruction of the self and the lack of space inside the mind and body that preclude the gestation. Finally we arrive to an interpretive analysis around the emotional world and the State of mind of the infertile woman using the parallel with literature and its esthetic understanding. She is included in the analysis the Greek myth of the punishment tantalic, Garcia Lorca's Yerma, waiting for Godot of Becket and the characters of Macbeth by Shakespeare Proposing the literature as a symbolic bridge that allows the understanding of painful torture faced by the infertile woman.
