Fundamentalmente, es en las universidades y centros de formacion en medicina, psicologia y, en algunos casos, linguistica y psicopedagogia, donde se lleva a cabo formacion e investigacion en el estudio y la atencion a pacientes con lesiones cerebrales. A pesar que desde 2001 existe una Sociedad Venezolana de Neuropsicologia, todavia persisten barreras a la hora de establecer vinculos profesionales y de trabajo en equipo para la atencion del paciente y el desarrollo de la disciplina en nuestro pais. EnglishIn Venezuela, Neuropsychology has developed in an unstructured and disperse manner. Basically, it has been in the universities and schools of medicine, psychology, and, to a lesser degree, of linguistics and psychopedagogy, where research in the area as well as attention to patients with brain injuries are taken care of. Even though since 2001, there is such a thing as a Venezuelan Society of Neuropsychology, there are still serious barriers when attempting to establish professional cooperation and teamwork for the attention of these patients and for the fostering of the development of the discipline.
