A systematic study of species of Symphyogyna was carried out, as a result, ten species of the genus are reported for Colombia: S. apleulispina, S. aspera, S. bogotensis, S. braslliensis, S. brongniartii, S. eireinata, S. leptothelia, S. marginata, S. rubeseens and S. trivitafta. S. sinuata, S. hoehstetteri, S. lindmani and S. mexicana are excluded. Information on distribution and ecology are included; in addition, a key and drawing of all species are provided.
