Treatment of sapogenine diosgenone (compound .1) in a sealed tube with acetic anhidride, at 200°C for 6 hours, led to obtention of compounds 2 and 3. Structural elucidation of the compounds was carried out by RMN-H1 and RMN-C13 spectroscopy. The mix of the compounds 2 and 3 was significantly effective against Plasmodium falciparum FCB-2.
