Introduction: This article contains the partial results of the investigation “Towards a comprehensive construction of the curriculum of the Faculty of Law at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogota.” Methodology: Through a literature review, we discussed, both descriptively and qualitatively, historical, political, philosophical and pedagogical components present in the teaching of law. Results: We identified the problems that affect the teaching of law, such as the influence of positivism, rote learning and the dismantling of practical skills through theoretical training. Conclusion: This situation prompts the authors to propose a study of law that is more in line with social realities, through the implementation of interdisciplinary studies, and research as central axes for legal education.
