This work evaluated the composition effect of Acrylamide hydrogel matrix tablets, over the product functionality. The product was designed to arrange pH in soils. In the first step the pharmaceutical properties of the polymer were characterized and there were proposed seven composition alternatives. The functionality in terms of time for dissolution the active principle, the delivery kinetic, the integrity during its use and “in vivo” functionality also were evaluated, in the prototypes. It was found that the product functionality attributes identified by the customer were obtained in all the proposed prototypes.
