RESUMEN La Formacion Guaduas fue depositada durante la transicion Cretacico - Terciaria en la parte central de la Cordillera Oriental Colombiana y ha sido reconocida como una sucesion principalmente lodolitica, con algunos niveles areniticos y carbon. Se decidio determinar un patron de apilamiento de facies de la Formacion Guaduas aplicable al Altiplano Cundiboyacense. Para esto, se describieron y caracterizaron 12 litofacies predominantes - basadas en litologia, estructuras sedimentarias y ocurrencia - en 10 perfiles estratigraficos en los departamentos de Boyaca y Cundinamarca, sumado a esto se analizaron 400 metros de perforacion. Adicionalmente se analizo la informacion estratigrafica existente. La asociacion de las litofacies permitio establecer 4 sistemas deposicionales. Adicionalmente a partir del examen de las facies se observo la ciclicidad de las mismas dentro del registro estratigrafico, lo que permitio desarrollar un analisis Markoviano para los depositos de la Formacion Guaduas que junto a la correlacion de las columnas estratigraficas (teniendo en cuenta la posicion del nivel del mar) permitio la produccion de dos mapas preliminares de facies para una parte del altiplano Cundiboyacense, sobre los que se observa la predominancia de ambientes transicionales hacia la parte SW de la cuenca con una somerizacion progresiva en direccion NE producto de una subsidencia diferencial. Palabras Clave: Litofacies, Ambientes de Deposito, Mapas de Facies, Formacion Guaduas, Mapas de litofacies LITOFACIES AND DEPOSITIONAL ENVIRONMENTS OF THE GUADUAS FORMATION IN THE CENTRAL PART OF THE COLOMBIAN EASTERN CORDILLERA - PALEOGEOGRAPHIC IMPLICATIONS ABSTRACT The Guaduas Formation was deposited during the Cretaceous- Tertiary transition, in the central part of the Colombian Eastern Cordillera, and it has been recognized as a mudstone succession, with some sand levels, and coal. The Goal is to determine a stacking pattern of Guaduas Formation's Lithofacies, which can be applicable to the Cundiboyacense Altiplano (plateau). So, 12 Lithofacies were described and characterized - based on sedimentary structures and their occurrence on 10 stratigraphic columns and 400m of coal drillings cores, plus the analysis of previous stratigraphic information. The Lithofacies assemblage allowed the interpretation of -sedimentary environments and helped to establish 4 depositional Systems. Additionally, from examination of facies cyclicity observed within the stratigraphic record, a Markov chain Analysis was developed for the Guaduas Formation deposits, that together with the correlation of the stratigraphic columns (taking into account the position of sea level) enabled the production of preliminary facies maps for part of the Cundiboyacense Altiplano, on which it is noticed the predominance of transitional environments toward the SW of the basin with a gradual shallowing toward NE as a result of differential subsidence.
