La incidencia de enfermedad valvular en mujeres en edad fertil es muy frecuente en nues¬tro medio. El manejo de estas patologias en la mujer embarazada va mas alla del alcance del gineco-obstetra y el manejo de estas pacientes por personal inexperto puede tener consecuencias funestas para la madre y el feto. A continuacion se presenta una revision detallada de este problema, haciendo enfasis en el manejo y control de la anticoagulacion en las maternas con enfermedad valvular y/o protesis mecanicas.
