Idiopathic chronic eosinophilic pneumonia, also known as Carrington’s disease, is a rare condition, which belongs to a heterogeneous group of diseases characterized by presenting eosinophilic infiltrates in the lungs and peripheral blood eosinophilia. This article describes the case of a female patient with bronchiectasis, in whom eosinophilia was documented in peripheral blood and lung tissue by bronchoalveolar lavage. The patient, treated with oral steroids, presented a quick and favorable response, resulting in discharge after twelve days of hospitalization.
