One of the strategies that have been impelled in the different levels of academic formation is the inclusion of information and communication technologies in the higher education, as tool for increasing coverage and reducing costs, due to –as it is deduced-; this inclusion allows attending a greater number of students without space or time limitations. But the solution of learning and virtual formation is more than the endowment of last generation technological infrastructure; more than simple transformation of present class in virtual courses; or the usage of the computer to motivate participation of the students in the course. On the other hand, it is arisen the formulation “formation by competences” in different educational levels and also with special attention higher levels. This formation can be understood in diverse ways. There are trends that point out working formation, and other ones that point out toward more complete conception, that could promote the investigative aspect in students. The proposal has as objective to design, guide and develop tools and activities through the usage of courses in virtual spaces, that promote the general and specific competences (that keep relation with the competence pointed out in the ICFES documents and which are the basis for ECAES development) of the students of the careers that have as fundament the basic sciences. In the development of the curricular programs based on competences, the goal is the students and their capacity of learning. For this reason the main pedagogic relation is the one that strengthens the autonomous and cooperative learning, in which students should determine learning goals and also they should be able to observe and evaluate their own progress. The students face problems and learn of the experience and critic of the teacher; the critic and the self-criticism of the student's work is the most important condition in the process of assimilation of academic culture and intellectual maturity. This focus requires instruments of methodological support to the student, as well as educational tools and appropriate educational spaces.
