The debate over euthanasia is alive and heated in many parts of the world. There is a variety or arguments for and against it. In addition, there are many laws that support or punish this practice. In the following notes, the arguments for against euthanasia are profiled as well as some debates on various laws being mentioned. The right to autonomy, the need to consider independently euthanasia from religious beliefs, quality of life, and altruism towards the ill are some of the arguments for euthanasia while a person’s dignity and the inviolability of human life are against this practice.
