Resumen En las ultimas decadas se han realizado multiples investigaciones sobre el empleo del etanol como biocombustible, detectandose varios efectos secundarios entre ellos; procesos de corrosion en las piezas expuestas a la mezcla bioetanol-gasolina. Esta investigacion analiza los fenomenos de corrosion que ocurren al exponer laton y bronce, materiales comunmente encontrados en piezas de motores a dichas mezclas. La investigacion se realizo mediante ensayos estaticos de inmersion en mezclas de bioetanol-gasolina al 5, 10, 15, 20 y 100% en vol. de bioetanol y una temperatura de 25°C. El comportamiento de la corrosion se evaluo mediante la tecnica de perdida de peso y las tecnicas electroquimicas de Espectroscopia de Impedancia Electroquimica y curvas de Tafel. Se determino la estabilidad de las capas formadas durante el tiempo de exposicion y su influencia en la velocidad de corrosion de los materiales. Palabras clave: EIE, velocidad de corrosion, biocombustible, electroquimica Abstract In recent decades, there have been many research on the use of ethanol as a biofuel, where several secondary effects were detected, including corrosion processes on parts exposed to bioethanol-gasoline blend. This study examines the corrosion phenomena occurring when brass and bronze materials commonly found in vehicle parts were exposed to the blends. The research was conducted by static immersion tests of ethanol-gasoline blends at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 100% v of bioethanol and a temperature of 25°C. The corrosion behavior was evaluated using the method of weight loss and electrochemical techniques, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy and Tafel curves.
