Abstract   Language development is a crucial part when learning a language since it affects the learners´ communicative process and performance. Limited phonological instruction can negatively impact the learners´ language development since it involves the growth of the required skills to communicate in the target language. The aim of this paper is to explain the effects of a specific phonological training on English to elementary-level learners; and to discuss the results of this training in the language development.
