El estudio se realizo en la vereda del Municipio de Guaitarilla, ubicada a 2400 m.s.n.m, donde se evaluo el ciclo de vida, componentes de rendimiento y la reaccion a mildeo velloso (Peronospora farinosa) de 16 selecciones y 4 testigos comerciales de quinua dulce procedentes de las variedades Tunkahuan, Piartal, de y SL47. Los materiales se distribuyeron en un diseno de bloques al azar con 20 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones. Se observo que las selecciones SL47 y el material original testigo fueron los mas precoces durante todas las etapas fenologicas del cultivo al cumplir su ciclo de vida entre 122 y 128 dias, en tanto que la variedad de fue la mas tardia con 178 dias. En cuanto a rendimiento los materiales de mayor produccion fueron: SL47 testigo, Piartal S36, Tunkahuan S44, SL47 S105, SL47 S164, SL47 S112, SL47 S133, Piartal testigo, de testigo, Tunkahuan S20 y Tunkahuan testigo con 2475.65 a 2814.50 Kgha -1 , con diferencias estadisticas significativas con respecto a las selecciones SL47 S90, Piartal S48, Piartal S81, Piartal S50 y Piartal S51 con 1503.70 a 1920.05 Kgha -1 que fueron los materiales de menor produccion. Los mejores materiales en cuanto a precocidad, altura de plantas, rendimiento y tolerancia al mildeo fueron: SL47 testigo, SL47 S105, Piartal S36, SL47 S164, SL47 S112 y SL47 S133 al presentar los mayores indices de seleccion con 0.881, 0.867, 0.860, 0.858, 0.758 y 0.696 respectivamente. ABSTRACT A study was carried out in Cuatro Esquinas town in the Municipality of Guaitarilla. This place is situated 2400 m.a.s.l.there, the cycle of life, the yield components and the reaction to downy mildew (Peronospora farinosa) of sixteen selections and four commercial treatments of sweet quinoa coming from varietites such as Tunkahuan, Piartal, de and SL47 were evaluated. The materials were distributed following a randomized block desing with twenty treatmens and four repetitions. It was possible to observe that SL47 and the original commercial treatment were the most precocious selections through all the crop phonological stages whent finishing their cicle of life between one hundred and twenty-two and one hundred and twenty-eigth days. On the other hand, the Blanca de Jerico was a late variety with one hundred and seventy-eight days. Inasmuch as their yield, the materials with the highest production were: SL47 commercial treatment, Piartal S36, Tunkahuan S44, SL47 S105, SL47 S164, SL47 S112, SL47 S133, Piartal commercial treatment, de commercial treatment, Tunkahuan S20 and Tunkahuan commercial treatment with 2457.65 to 2814.50 Kgha -1 ; showing meaningful statistical differences in relation to SL47 S90, Piartal S48, Piartal S81, Piartal S50 and Piartal S51 with 1503.70 to 1920.05 Kgha -1 as the materials with less production. Taking in to account precocity, plants height, yield, and Peronospora farinosa tolerance, the best materials were: SL47 commercial treatment, SL47 S105, Piartal S36, SL47 S164, SL47 S112 and SL47 S133 showing the highest selection indexes with 0.881, 0.867, 0.860, 0.858, 0.758 and 0.696 respectively.
