RESUMEN El maestro, como profesional formador de personas, se enfrenta hoy con el reto de fundamentar su practica en una solida reflexion pedagogica acerca de los fines de su accion y los medios mas idoneos para lograrlos. Este ensayo pretende reflexionar, a partir de una consideracion en torno a los conceptos de educacion y pedagogia, acerca del significado e importancia que tiene el saber pedagogico en el quehacer formativo del docente y en el liderazgo que ejerce sobre sus estudiantes y el contexto social. ABSTRACT Today, teachers, as professionals, face the challenge to base their practice on solid pedagogic reflections about the purpose of their actions and the better ways to achieve them.
