The text represents a global picture of the Austrian empire situation through out the second half of the XIX Century and particulary in Vienna. During this period, Vienna was transformed into a great metropolis characterized by a great number of contradictions and difficulties. Converting her into the nest of a very original culture which the old monarchy structure and whose most peculiar and strong elements is exactly the livid and psychoanalysis theory created by Sigmund Freud by the end of the century.
