SUMMARY. Every year 8 million new cases of tuberculosis are reported around the world. 20 million are active and one third of the global population has had contact with the tuberculosis bacillus. The vertebral tuberculosis represents 50% of cases of musculoskeletal tuberculosis. Thoracic spine is the most affected area, followed by the lumbar and cervical region. Mechanical problems that arise at the spine are, kyphosys, bone deformity and paraplegia when the vertebral body is distroyed. In children there can be important instability, spinal cord damage or radicular compression and abscess with affection to the nearby structures. Frequently the are two vertebral bodies affected, this is there case of an adult female with multiples bodies affection and dissemination by psoas muscle, inguinal region and hamstrings. She was treated by drugs and surgery with good result.
