Estimación del ensayo de compresión con deformación plana tipo FORD utilizando el método de elementos finitos y utilizando curvas de comportamiento obtenidas en un ensayo de tracción
The results of a plane strain compression test (PSCT) were estimated by mean of the finite element method (FEM) and data of stress flow experimentally obtained from a tension test. The geometric model employed in ABAQUS TM was validated by comparing load-thickness reduction computational curves to experimental ones. Three different aluminum alloys were studied: 3003, 8011 and 6063. The two-dimensional FEM model is validated using a variable specimen width and a constant average friction coefficient, both in simulation as in the stress-strain material curves calculation.
