The schwannoma is a benign tumor that usually occurs in the peripheral nerves of the upper limb. The diagnosis is based on the typical appearance of magnetic resonance and confirmed by histological examination. Surgical treatment is resection with preservation of adjacent nerve fascicles. The malignant transformation of this tumor is very low. A solitary benign schwannoma of the brachial plexus unassociated with von Recklinghausen’s disease is presented, located at the origin of the radial nerve in the posterior cord of the brachial plexus.
