espanolEl presente articulo tiene por objeto brindar un panorama general sobre los distintos enfoques y programas de investigacion que han estudiado la tecnologia con las ciencias sociales como base, para analizar su configuracion y su relacion con la sociedad y la cultura. Este texto se divide en dos apartados: el primero plantea una descripcion de algunas perspectivas disciplinarias que abordan los estudios sociales de la ciencia y la tecnologia como la historia de la tecnologia, el evolucionismo economico, la antropologia de la tecnologia y la sociologia de la tecnologia. El segundo plantea una profundizacion sobre aquellos enfoques sociologicos constructivistas que permiten analizar el problema de las relaciones sociales y la configuracion de artefactos tecnologicos. Finalmente, se presenta una reflexion sobre la incidencia de dichos estudios en America Latina. EnglishThis article aims at providing an overview of the different approaches and research programs that have studied technology from a social sciences� perspective, in order to analyze its configuration and its relation to society and culture. This paper is divided into two sections. The first section presents some disciplinary perspectives that address the social studies of science and technology, such as: the history of technology, the economic evolution, the anthropology of technology and the sociology of technology. The second section presents an in-depth approach to the sociological constructivist perspectives that aid in the analysis of social relationships and the configuration of technological devices. Finally, the authors present a reflection on the impact of such studies in Latin America.
